Overview

The Meridian 380 Beam Projector is a high-output discharge-source fixture intended for large-scale architectural illumination, cultural-tourism installations, and entertainment environments where a tight, long-throw beam is required. Its compact 37 × 30 × 68 cm housing belies a 380 W optical engine built around a 19R Japanese Phoenix discharge lamp and a 145 mm front lens, producing a 2° pencil beam with motorised focus.

Optical and Effects Systems

Colour is handled by a 13-position wheel with an additional open channel and a continuous rainbow sweep; a separate frost/haze flag softens the output when required. The gobo system carries 13 fixed patterns plus a clear. A 24-facet rotating prism, comprising a 16-facet and an 8-facet element that can be stacked independently, enables macro-level aerial effects. Dimming is linear from 0 to 100 % with no perceptible step.

Mechanics and Control

The fixture supports ceiling (inverted) and side mounting without tool changes. Pan travel is 540° and tilt travel is 270°, both servo-driven for fast, smooth repositioning. An onboard LCD display rotates to match the mounting orientation. Control is via DMX 512 at 16 channels, with standalone and master to slave auto-run modes for installations without a dedicated console.

Typical Applications

Building façade beam arrays, cultural-tourism landmark lighting, open-air stage and event rigs, and long-throw architectural accent work.
