Controls & integration

From static white to DMX512 scenes: how our luminaires are controlled, and how we help integrate them into a project.

From scene to luminaire

  1. 01, Scene

    Schedule or show

Timer, astronomical clock, building management system or lighting console decides what plays when.

  2. 02, Network

    Art-Net / sACN

On large schemes, DMX data travels over Ethernet to nodes close to the luminaires.

  3. 03, Line

    DMX512

Each node drives a chain of luminaires on a terminated DMX line, within distance and load limits.

  4. 04, Luminaire

    Pixel or channel

DMX-capable luminaires respond per channel or pixel. Static models simply follow their power supply.

What the luminaires accept

  • Static white or colour

The majority of the range. Switched or timed from the supply circuit, the simplest and most robust option.

Most linear, flood, in-ground and landscape models
  • Built-in colour programs

Selected point and decorative luminaires run internal colour-change programs with no external controller.

Listed as an option on the relevant datasheets
  • DMX512

Selected facade luminaires are available with DMX512 control for scheduled scenes and colour shows.

Available on selected architectural models, check each datasheet
  • Light sensor & remote

Several landscape and solar models switch on automatically at dusk; some include a remote control.

System integration

Not every scheme needs dynamic light. A static white facade with a timed curfew is often the right answer, robust, efficient and easy to operate. Where a client wants scenes or colour, the control system becomes part of the design.

What we provide

  • Luminaires with the control option stated on each datasheet: static, built-in program, or DMX512.
  • Channel and pixel information for DMX-capable models, so universes and nodes can be sized.
  • Wiring and addressing diagrams for the project, prepared with the installer.

What we coordinate

Controllers, network design and show programming are usually supplied by a controls specialist or the electrical contractor. We work alongside them: confirming compatibility, supplying test luminaires for bench checks, and supporting addressing during commissioning.

Before you choose dynamic

Ask who will operate the system after handover. A sophisticated show that nobody can change becomes a static scene within a year. A small set of well-chosen scenes on a reliable timer often serves a building better.
