The brief
A tourism operator wanted a riverside walk that would draw evening visitors and change character along its length.
The approach
The route was planned as five scenes: an arrival plaza with light sculptures, a long bank of reed lights, a tree canopy hung with spheres, a quiet dark stretch to rest the eye, and a finale with beam lights over the water.
Reed lights and light flowers run on low-voltage zones fed from distribution points along the path, so each stretch can be maintained without switching off the whole route.
Points worth noting
- Densities were tested with a 20-metre sample stretch before ordering.
- Ground-stake pieces were chosen so they can be lifted for seasonal maintenance.
